Why We should invest in our Dugsi?

أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِى قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ إِلَـٰهَكَ وَإِلَـٰهَ ءَابَآئِكَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ إِلَـٰهًا وَٰحِدًا وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ

Or did you witness when death came to Jacob? He asked his children, “Who will you worship after my passing?” They replied, “We will ˹continue to˺ worship your God, the God of your forefathers — Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac — the One God. And to Him we ˹all˺ submit.”

As parents, the BEST gift we can leave behind for our children after our death is the knowledge and the hope they will worship only Allah.The righteous people and the messengers’s last advice to their children was to worship only Allah and not to die except as muslims.My questions is are we paving the way and giving them the resources they need in order to connect with Allah after our death?.Do you think your son or daughter will continue to pray after your death or wear Hijab,fast or perform Hajj?.Do you think your children’s children will be muslims who only worship Allah?

The reality is We are not sure of anything but Allah reminds a very important principle in the Quran.

وَمَنْ أَرَادَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَسَعَىٰ لَهَا سَعْيَهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَانَ سَعْيُهُم مَّشْكُورًا

But whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it accordingly, and is a ˹true˺ believer, it is they whose striving will be appreciated.

We are not sure about the future but we have hope in Allah.We need to exert a lot of effort and invest in our children’s deen by providing them with places where they can learn the religion, worship and learn to live according to the ways that please Allah.

Now we have an opportunity to come together to build a better dugsi for our children and their children who will come in the future.By building a better dugsi we are going to provide services that our children and other people in our community need;

1. Bigger and better equipped classrooms
2. Fewer Students in each classrooms
3. Libraries for children and Adults
4. Modern Offices
5. Special classrooms for children with learning disability
6. High Quality Curriculum in Islamic Studies
7. Fun Activities
8. And much more

We need your support to turn this dream into a reality, to build our children a dugsi meets their needs and become a centre of knowledge and wisdom.Our children in the west faces more threat to their faith and morals than any other muslim children in the world.We need to take a bigger steps to confront those challenges and prepare for them to face the challenges with strength and determination.You can support us by contributing monetary donations, volunteer and sharing this with your family and friends.

Finally,I will leave you with this verse

إِنَّ ٱلْمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُصَّدِّقَـٰتِ وَأَقْرَضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَـٰعَفُ لَهُمْ وَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ

Indeed, those men and women who give in charity and lend to Allah a good loan will have it multiplied for them, and they will have an honourable reward.
